Ruth Mary Jewellery appears on BBC1's Songs of Praise

Katherine Jenkins and Ruth Mary Jewellery

What happens when you put Katherine Jenkins, Ruth Mary Jewellery and a team of producers and cameramen together in a secret room inside St Paul's Cathedral in London? To Find out, watch HEAVENLY DESIGN on BBC1 on Sunday 8th September, 1:45pm.

In the meantime, here's a sneak preview from two days of filming for BBC 1's quintessential Sunday viewing, 'Songs of Praise'...

Katherine Jenkins with Ruth Mary Chipperfield

The programme will shine a spotlight on Sir Christopher Wren, the architect behind St Paul's Cathedral. When Katherine Jenkins asked Ruth about how architecture inspires her work, her answer lay in the sculptural details above the decorative arches in this magnificent building. Like Wren, who started out as a scientist before turning to architecture, Ruth was a chemist before becoming a jeweller – perhaps the perfect illustration that art and science need not be separate subjects!

Filming Songs of Praise at St Paul's Cathedral

The day before the interview at St Paul's was the hottest day of the year; not the perfect conditions for filming the jewellery studio! But Ruth thankfully made it through without melting. Here are some behind-the-scenes photos to whet your appetite before HEAVENLY DESIGN airs on 8th September at 1:45pm on BBC1. To make sure you don't miss it, sign up to VIP news to receive a reminder two days before.
